Shabana Basij-Rasikh
Raised in Kabul during the Taliban’s first regime, Shabana has dedicated her entire adult life to educating Afghan girls. She is the co-founder and president of SOLA (School of Leadership, Afghanistan), the first and only boarding school for Afghan girls. After evacuating SOLA’s students and staff from Kabul in 2021, she re-established the school in Rwanda and has continued expanding access to education for Afghan girls through SOLA and its online learning platform, SOLAx.
